Biography

Mr. Andrew Padilla is a financial professional living in the United States currently pursuing his Masters of Business Administration at Columbia Business School in New York. Mr. Padilla is originally from Waco, TX and attended Baylor University for his undergraduate studies, completing dual concentrations in accounting and computer information systems. Prior to business school, Mr. Padilla worked in the public accounting, investment management and investment banking industries. He currently interns at private equity firm Pillsman Partners where he is responsible for investment evaluation, due diligence, market research and valuation analysis–including LBO and DCF–of lower middle market companies in the specialty chemicals and industrial materials sectors. He recently completed a summer internship in Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s technology investment banking group in Palo Alto, California where he focused on sell-side advisory assignments in a variety of technology verticals, including internet, software, and semiconductors.

Mr. Padilla’s interests lie in technology, education, music and sports.

Purchasing the domain andrewpadilla.com as a teenager, Mr. Padilla has extensive experience in web development and database management, and he is knowledgeable in programming languages such as PHP, Javascript, C++ and SQL. During college, Mr. Padilla founded a web and graphic design business that advised small businesses and organizations on web interface design improvements and online expansion strategies. In addition, Mr. Padilla worked on the development of the Baylor University website and served as the Design Director for a student-run, university-sponsored online community for the university’s student body, faculty and staff. Currently, Mr. Padilla serves as the VP of Social Media for the Private Equity & Venture Capital Club at Columbia Business School where is responsible for expanding the club’s presence across multiple social media channels and solidifying the club’s branding efforts.

Mr. Padilla was among the first in his family to graduate from college, which instilled in him a strong sense of purpose to empower others to further their education. Throughout college and continuing today, Mr. Padilla has been involved in numerous educational initiatives, including serving as a mentor to a 3rd grade bilingual class in Mesquite, TX, raising money to fund scholarships for Hispanic students and assisting the board of directors for a non-profit organization (LINC) that develops literacy programs for children. His ultimate goal is to endow a college scholarship for underrepresented minorities and first-time college students.

Mr. Padilla played the Baritone and Euphonium for six years, during which time he developed an appreciation for music. He enjoys a variety of musical genres but particularly enjoys jazz music by artists such as John Coltrane and Miles Davis. In addition, Mr. Padilla listens extensively to modern country music, which reminds him of his native Texas roots, and enjoys dancing to Latin music such as salsa, merengue, reggaeton and bachata.

Mr. Padilla is an avid sports fan. He regularly follows American football, basketball and baseball. His favorite teams are the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers. Outside of following his favorite teams, Mr. Padilla enjoys water sports such as jet skiing and white water rafting. He also enjoys playing tennis, basketball and softball.
